PM has nation’s backing: Pawar

Belgaum, May 16: Senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha opposition leader, Sharad Pawar, today said the whole country stands with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the issue of nuclear tests, and the nation has to face the challenge of international sanctions unitedly.

He told reporters at Nippani, the tests have shown that the country has the capability to produce nuclear bombs. Against the grain of the CWC line in New Delhi which accused the BJP of selfish motives , he said, “The PM must have had valid reasons to have taken up the task at this juncture.”
