Continuing his tirade against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) general secretary Praveen Togadia today said that in comparison to Congress’ history of a soft approach towards Hindutva, Sonia’s every action is against Hindu public sentiments. ‘‘Maybe, she has a pathological hatred for ‘pagan’ Hindus,’’ he said. ‘‘Sonia has run a hate campaign against Hindus in Gujarat,’’ he said, adding ‘‘the forthcoming Gujarat polls will prove to be her Waterloo and the secularists’ graveyard’’.

Seeking to clarify that he didn’t have Sonia in mind when he made that controversial remark in Kutch, Togadia stated that he had spoken in a colloquial language in front of a rural crowd and didn’t take anybody’s name.

When it was pointed out that Parivar leaders, including the PM, rebuked him for the language, he said, ‘‘I haven’t seen Atalji’s text. And nothing has reached me officially or unofficially’’.
