If heavens don’t fall, the Prime Minister would be vacationing in Manali soon after a Cabinet reshuffle.

Sources said that PM plans to leave for his foster son-in-law’s holiday resort for the annual sojourn on May 13, after attending the swearing-in a day before. He would be back from Manali on May 17.

They said May 12 has been chosen for the reshuffle as MPs would be still in the Capital after the Budget session ends on May 9.

Another reason for May 12 being chosen as the D-day is that it is considered auspicious. But, astrologers say, there was no major change in planetary movements except for the monthly re-positioning of Venus which does not influence administration as much as Jupiter or Saturn.

Because of the Manali vacation, the next free time available for the PM would have been between May 18 and May 27 as Vajpayee leaves for a three-nation tour on May 28. But that would be too late to gather his men around, they said.
