Government servant Sudhakar Jadhav, who works as a post master, is happy to be still alive. But he cannot forget the manner in which he was beaten up by the constables for helping the riot affected people on Friday. “The whole day I was trying to somehow help the victims in the presence of police at Ramabai Colony. But at around 4 pm, two constables menacingly charged towards me with lathis,” Jadhav said. When he told them that he too was a government employee and worked as a post master, the constables simply grinned and quipped: “Now we will put the stamp!” and hit him with sticks on his back. “I can easily recognise the constable who said those wise words and shall fight for justice,” said Jadhav, nursing his bruised back at Rajawadi hospital.
