
Factory owner stabbed
Two unidentified men reportedly stabbed a factory owner and robbed him of Rs 90,000 in Shahdara this morning.
According to the police, the factory owner, Sanjay Jain, 42, was on his way to his utensils factory in the Babarpur area near Shahdara. He was barely 500m from his factory, when two men intercepted his red Maruti van.
Ten arrested for child’s murder
The North East district police have arrested ten persons, five of whom are allegedly involved in the killing of Sarvesh Kumar, 5, while robbing the house of the victim on December 27, 1998.
Sarvesh was shot dead by one of the accused when he answered the door bell of his house in Jagat Puri Extension around 7.20 p.m. He was declared brought dead by the doctors of G.T.B Hospital. The accused took away Rs 50,000, rings, earrings and a gold chain.
4 arrested for theft
The Nand Nagri police claims to have solved twelve cases of theft with the arrest of four persons — Idris, Netrapal, Noor Hasan and Noor Alam, presently living in Ashok Nagar. All four hail from Bhagpat (UP). Two colour TVs, three black and white TVs, a music system, two voltage stabilizers, two radios, six gas cylinders, wall clocks and some other items have been recovered from their possession. The police is carrying out further investigations.
Armed man arrested
The police arrested Anil Kumar for possessing a country made revolver and the live cartridge of .12 bore pistol. The arrest was made after a complaint was filed that he was threatening some persons in the Madangeer area. Anil is a resident of Jhuggi Harijan Basti, Khanpur. He has been booked under the Arms Act by the Ambedkar Nagar police.
