Three robbers arrested
Mukesh, 28, and Ram Das, 30, were caught by patrolling policemen while they were fleeing after robbing a man of Rs 1,200 on Ravi Das Marg. They used a knife to threaten him. In a separate incident, a thief was picked up from the New Delhi Railway Station, and the police claim to have solved seven cases of auto theft with his arrest. Ram Babu, 22, used to remove the stepney and battery from autos after stealing them. The police have also recovered several abandoned autos.

Villagers gun down 2 dacoits
Dankaur villagers in the Noida district shot dead two dacoits on Sunday night. Four others managed to flee under the cover of darkness. According to the police, the gang struck in village Jaitpur under the Dankaur police station. When they broke into a house at around 2.30 pm, the family yelled for help and local villagers rushed to their rescue and opened fire with their licenced weapons.

With the arrest of Mukim, Mohammed Yusuf and Nagender Singh, a Preet Vihar June 11 robbery case has been solved. The Rs 1.75 lakh robbery at the Najibabad firm occurred when there were no customers. The staff were tied up and threatened with locally-made revolvers and knives. The police investigation led them to Nagender Singh who was arrested along with his associates. He revealed that one Mustkin was the brain behind the robbery. He is still at large. A gun and Rs 33,000 has been recovered. The men do not have a previous criminal record. An award has been announced for the police team who arrests them.

2 murdered
Two youths were found murdered in separate incidents in the city on Monday. Around 10.30 a.m., the Samaipur Badli police found the body of 27-year-old Sandeep, a tea stall worker. The youth had been stabbed several times, before his body was dumped on the roadside close to the tea stall. The police suspect the incident took place sometime in the night. Sandeep used to sleep in the tea stall after the owner left the place in the night.

In another incident, a labourer, believed to be in his twenties, was found fatally stabbed in a deserted area in Dwarka early on Monday morning. Though the police are yet to ascertain his identity, a name, Pramod Mandal, had been tattooed on his arm. The police also found a wallet containing Rs 165 from his shirt pocket.
