Piqued over the Congress demand for its derecognition, the BJP here today vowed to give it a befitting reply by ensuring its defeat in the coming Assembly elections.BJP general secretary Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said: ‘‘The Congress has challenged the honour and dignity of BJP workers and supporters. They will give it a befitting reply in the coming assembly polls by ensuring that it is wiped out in all states’’. He termed ‘‘absurd’’, the Congress demand for action by the Election Commission against PM Vajpayee and Madhya Pradesh chief ministerial candidate Uma Bharti for presenting a rape victim at a public meeting. He said it was ironical the demand comes from a ‘‘party which has been engaged in voter-list fabrications, misappropriation of funds by distributing advertisement material through school bags and ad campaigns’’.Naqvi said it is ‘‘very unfortunate that the party which rules over MP, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Delhi has no real issues or achievement to flaunt about’’. ‘‘That is why the Congress is involved in mud-slinging against the BJP and the NDA government. The Congress is shying away from issues and trying to disillusion voters. But, the BJP is here to ensure the Congress is made to account for its misdeeds.’’
