PANCHKULA, MARCH 8: The auction of commercial sites in various parts of the township today received a poor response, with just 11 sites out of a total of 71 for disposal being sold.

The 11 sites, fetched the Haryana Urban Development Authority a revenue of Rs 4.O4 crore. Except in the case of service shops sites, there was only a marginal difference between the reserved price and the highest bid. The sites which went under the hammer included booth sites (with and without basement), service shops, shop-cum-offices, restaurants and hotels.

The lone hotel site (30m X 27.5m) opposite the bus stand in Sector 10, went under the hammer for Rs 290.50 lakh, a notch above its reserved price of Rs 290 lakh. Of the four booth sites in Sector 2, only one (2.75m X 5.5m) was auctioned for Rs 6.43 lakh against a reserved price of Rs 6.39 lakh.

In Sector 6, both restaurants sites (2.75m X 8.25m) available fetched Rs 8.35 lakh and Rs 8.40 lakh respectively against their reserved price of Rs 8.20 lakh. There were no takers for four booth sites in this sector.

Two booth sites (2.75m X 8.25m) in Sector 8 went for Rs 11.38 lakh and 11.41 lakh against their reserved price of Rs 11.35 lakh. Five other booth sites went abegging. A booth site in the Sector 10 main market fetched Rs 4,000 more than its reserved price of Rs.8.25 lakh, while three others remained unsold. Three service shop sites (5.5m X 13.75m) in Sector 12 were sold for Rs 10.75 lakh (in Pkt-A) and Rs 9.01 lakh and Rs 8.40 lakh (in Pkt-B) against their reserved price of Rs 7.69 lakh for all three. There were no takers for the other service shop site and six booth sites in Pkt-A as well as for one SCO site and six booths in Pkt-B.

The single SCO site (5.5m X 22m) in Sector 12-A fetched Rs 31.31 lakh against Rs 31.20 lakh. All seven booth sites in Sector 4, as well as the five 3-storey SCOs and one 5-storey SCO in Sector 5 went abegging. Similarly, there were no takers for six booth sites, and two showrooms in Sector 11. Two service shop sites, five booth sites and two iron-steel sites in Sector 15 also remained unsold. Another auction to dispose of commercial sites in Sectors 16, 17 and 21 is scheduled to be organised on March 26.
