Post-monsoon rain fury claims 2 in Solapur

SOLPAUR, October 15: Incessant rains lashing Solapur and Osmanabad districts today claimed three more lives.

Newly married Narayansa Chavadimani and his wife Amruta were buried alive when their house collapsed in the Lashkar area of Solapur. The bodies were later extricated from the debris by the fire brigade personnel.

Another person was killed and two were injured in a wall collapse at Poorva-lota village in Kalamb taluka of neighbouring Osmanabad.

Meanwhile, heavy rains have caused havoc in the district and vehicular traffic between Solapur and Vijapur has came to a standstill as swirling waters of Sina river submerged a diversion road near Wadakbal bridge on Solapur-Vijapur National Highway today.
