BANGALORE, July 26: Even as the Karnataka Electricity Board asserts that crematoria are exempt from power cuts, grieving relatives of the deceased have to contend with the trauma of the power supply being cut off at the electric crematoria in the city. One such set of mourners recently had to face the horror of the power going off a few minutes after the body of their dear one was placed in the furnace, even as several other groups waited their turn. All four crematoria run by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike in the city have to contend with the vagaries of power supply. Suitable alternative methods are the need of the hour.
