
PANCHKULA, May 12: Power situation in Panchkula will improve by May 15, when additional supply from the Kunihar power project, in Himachal Pradesh, is made available.
Speaking at public grievances’ meet here, Haryana Social Welfare Minister Dr Kamla Verma said that 24-hour power supply in Haryana, as promised by Chief Minister Bansi Lal will be possible by June 30, and that the state government has also decided to purchase additional power from Himachal Pradesh.
Verma also pointed out that the proposed Municipal Committee for Panchkula will not be possible till the Haryana Urban Development Authority releases the requisite funds.
Meanwhile, seven out of the 10 grievances, mostly related to civic amenities, put up before the Minister during the meet were redressed today. The remaining three were deferred for the next meeting.
