Wipro chairman Azim Hasham Premji has once again proved to be one-up on his software peers, this time in losing wealth. In the last two trading sessions on April 10, 11 on BSE, Premji’s wallet was short of a whopping Rs 5,921.39 crore as Infosys’ guidance missile hit the rest of the technology stocks. The markets were closed on Monday due to Ambedkar Jayanti.

As Infosys announced its annual earnings on April 10 with a grim outlook for financial 2003-04, technology stocks tanked on the bourses. Premji, who owns 83.91 per cent of Wipro Ltd. or 19.52 crore shares, saw his networth plunging from Rs 24,056.45 crore on April 9 to Rs 18,135.06 crore on April 11.

Incidentally, while the five Infosys founders collectively lost around Rs 2,400 crore in two days, the richest man in India alone lost Rs 5,921.39 crore in the same period.
