KULLU, Dec 16: The principal of a school was allegedly murdered by a Class IX student in outer Seraj area of the district under Nirmand tehsil yesterday.The district police chief Zahoor Zaidi in a press statement issued here said that N.K. Sharma, the principal of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Arsu near Nirmand reportedly caught the accused Dev Raj, son of Balak Ram redhanded while copying in the examination hall. He then asked the boy to leave the examination hall. The SP revealed that later in the evening, the accused was seen roaming near the principal's residence. Soon after the principal reached the residence, the accused pounced on him and attacked him with an iron rod. The seriously injured principal, in a critical condition was brought to the govt hospital at Nirmand but was later shifted to a hospital at Rampur. He was referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla but succumbed to his injuries en route to Shimla. According to Zaidi, the accused has been nabbed and a case of murder has been registered against him.
