Arjun Atwal sank three birdies in the last four holes to make a big move towards a top-10 finish as he added a third round 68 to take his tally to six-under 204 after three rounds in the Crowne Plaza Invitational golf at the Colonial Country Club.
Atwal’s previous rounds have been 69 and 67.
A bogey on fourth was followed by a birdie on fifth and a bogey on ninth meant Atwal was one-over for the front nine.
Then a string of pars was followed by birdies on 15th,17th and 18th to finish at two-under 68.
Meanwhile,David Toms, who was seven shots ahead of the field fell behind with a four-over 74,even as the lead shifted into the hands of Charlie Wi,hoping to follow fellow Korean KJ Choi, who won the Players Championships, last week.
Toms, who was 62-62 in the first two rounds, blew away a seven-stroke margin and Wi took the lead with a 32-foot birdie putt on the par-3 16th hole.
At 13-under after a four-under 66,Wi had a one-stroke stroke edge over Toms and the 54-hole lead on the PGA Tour for the first time in his career.
A victory would move Wi from 104th position into the top 25 in the FedExCup standings.
John Senden, who began the third round with Wi in a quartet of players seven strokes back, shot even par and was third alone at nine-under. Stuart Appleby (67),Paul Goydos (67) and Mark Wilson (71) were eight-under.
