Australia took just 21 balls to wrap up the Frank Worrell Trophy 2-0 on the fifth day of the third and final Test in Perth. The last wicket pair of Kemar Roach and Gavin Tonge added 15 more runs to reach 323 on Sunday to their overnight partnership of 29 before Doug Bollinger got Roach to edge one back to keeper Brad Haddin to win the match by 36 runs.
West Indies skipper Chris Gayle was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 72-ball 102 and also the Man of the Series for accumulating 346 runs in the series.
Requiring 51 runs on the final morning with just one wicket in hand,Roach and Tonge started off on the back foot. Roach prodded outside the off stump on a few occasions in Shane Watsons first over, before Tonge inside-edged Bollinger for a boundary in the next. Roach got into the act in the third over of the game, sliced a four over gully, before edging Bollinger on 17 to Haddin half way through the fourth.
Though Roach called for a decision referral immediately, the videos replays took their time in upholding umpire Billy Bowdens call. Tonge remained unbeaten on 23.
