Charismatic coach Guus Hiddink has put Chelsea on alert for a possible return to the club by admitting he is set to quit as Turkey boss if they fail to qualify for Euro 2012.
Hiddink, who led Chelsea to FA Cup glory as caretaker chief in 2009,claims he will call time on the Turks if their fading Euro 2012 qualification hopes are ended in the next two matches against Austria and Belgium.
Im trying to make a better Turkey team. If I cant do that,Ill ask the chairman to sack me, The Sun quoted him,as saying.
Six points from these two games is vital. If we dont get that I can offer my resignation to the chairman and then its up to him. It will mean that I am not a successful manager, Hiddink said
Chelsea first approached the Turkish FA about Hiddink in November, but was told he was not available.
Hiddink,64,has been in charge of Turkey for only eight months, but the team have struggled under his leadership and won two and lost two of their group games.
