China asks Myanmar to ensure stability along border

As 10,000 people streamed into its territory for refuge,China on Saturday told Myanmar to ensure stability along the border and protect people of Chinese origin living on its soil.

The Chinese call to its close ally Myanmar came in the backdrop of clashes between government troops and ethnic Kokang which left one person dead and several wounded and triggered a massive exodus into Yunnan province.

The Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu said,Beijing is following the situation closely and is concerned over the events,a China Daily reported.
