De Lange spell keeps Heat from chasing 123

Needing 10 runs off the last over,Brisbane Heat faltered,with two of their batsmen,Chris Sabburg and Matthew Gale,running themselves out. Tailender Alister McDermott was then done in by a brilliant inswinging yorker from Marchant de Lange to swing the match in Titans’ favour.

With this four-run win,Titans recorded their first win of this edition of the CLT20 at the PCA Stadium.

With sudden showers,the match began forty-five minutes late. Taking advantage of the overcast conditions,Brisbane bowled Titans out for 123,with Matthew Gale in great bowling form to bag four wickets,starting with that of Jacques

Rudolph in the second over of the match. Henry Davids and Hieno Kuhn got Titans back on track with a 69-run partnership.

After their dismissals,it was left to AB de Villiers to push them along. He did so to score 28 before running himself out. After that,none of the remaining batsmen got into double figures as Gale ran riot. Off-spinner Nathan Hauritz was also impressive,bowling four overs,giving away 14 runs and taking one wicket.

Brisbane opener James Hopes started solidly,but his partner Joe Burns struggled,before Rowan Richards dismissed him for a seven-ball duck. De Lange got two quick breathroughs,by bowling Peter Forrest and Ben Cutting in the same over.
