Hussey unfazed with Yuvrajs barbs about Oz chances in WC quarterfinal

Australian batsman Michael Hussey has hit back at Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh,who said that his team is targeting seizing the moment and capitalize on the defending World Cup champions weakness when they meet in Thursdays quarterfinal in Ahmedabad.

Hussey said that the Australians have proven themselves to be strong opponents by holding the No.1 ranking despite the retirements of some of their greatest-ever players.

I dont really care what the sentiment is outside the arena. All I really care about is whats going on in the team. Weve won quite a few series against India in one-day cricket over here in the last few years,without the likes of McGrath and Warne and Gilchrist and (Matt) Hayden, the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hussey,as saying.

We can come into this game with a lot of confidence,because we have played well against India in Indian conditions in the last few years,and won some very tough series. This is a huge game. We believe that if we can beat India then we have a great chance of going all the way, he added.

Yuvraj had fired an early shot at Ricky Pontings men after they were beaten by Pakistan in their last Group A game in Colombo. The defeat had also snapped the defending champions 34-game unbeaten run in World Cup.

Theyve won four games at this World Cup. Teams are equal at the moment,its just who plays better on the day. Australia are a top side,theyve won three successive World Cups but Shane Warne,Glenn McGrath,Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden are not there, Yuvraj had said.

You can get into the middle-order and Ponting is not in great form. If we can get into their weaknesses,we can win the quarterfinal, he had added.
