Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir faces the possibility of an extension to his five-year International Cricket Council (ICC) suspension for allegedly breaking the terms and conditions of his ban,an ICC source has said.
Amir reportedly played club cricket in Surrey in May,starting for Addington 1743 in a Surrey Cricket League Division One fixture against St Lukes at the LSE ground in New Malden,which is just 14 miles from Lords.
The Pakistani player scored 60 with the bat and then took four wickets to help his new teammates register an 81-run victory.
It was a clear violation of the terms and conditions of his ban,which makes it compulsory for him not to take part in any cricket event sanctioned by the ICC or its affiliate member boards.
The inquiry being conducted also involves England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Surrey officials along with the players who were involved in the match. The ICC wont be lenient this time with Amir who was also warned earlier, The Dawn quoted the ICC source,as saying.
Theres a strong possibility of extending the ban on him, the source added.
The ICC had previously warned the 19-year-old for playing a club match in Pakistan.
