Rain may play spoilsport in the third and final ODI between India and Australia to be played in Goa.

Rain may play spoilsport in the third and final ODI between India and Australia to be played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Margao on Sunday.

State Meteorological Department officials said on Friday today that there could be rain in the next 48 hours in several parts of the state.

Met Department Director K V Singh said wind circulation off Maharashtra coast which is drifting towards South Konkan and Goa has created cloudy condition in the state.

Singh said the monsoons are yet to withdraw from the state and it is likely to rain in next 48 hours.

“The circulation off Maharashtra is getting stronger,” he said.

The state has been witnessing continuous rainfall even in October month. The Department has recorded 191.7 mm rains this month.

The ODI series between India and Australia had a damp start with the first match at Kochi being washed out.

The second match at Visakhapatnam was won by India to take a 1-0 lead in the series of three matches.
