Interviews around the country also indicated that gay men have been flocking to Magic Mike in numbers not seen since the release of Brokeback Mountain. Sue Kroll,president for worldwide marketing for Warner Bros. Pictures,said the studio coordinated a well-concentrated and tailored campaign intended to capture gay moviegoers attention. The demographic wasnt part of the studios initial marketing push,but that quickly changed,once it became clear there was interest among gay men.

James Bond

Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style opened at Londons Barbican Centre and traces the importance of fashion and design,in the 22 Bond movies released so far. It is one of a series of events celebrating 50 years since the release of Dr. No, the first in the record-breaking film franchise. Included is the 1964 Aston Martin DB5,the most famous Bond car,the only surviving version of Scaramanga’s golden gun that appeared on screen in The Man With the Golden Gun and Ken Adam’s drawings for the set inside Fort Knox in Goldfinger.

An upcoming biopic on Princess Diana,is generating intense media interest. Ecosse Films on Wednesday released the first image of British-born actress Naomi Watts in the role of Princess Diana in the biopic. A statement from Ecosse said the film would be a compelling portrait of Diana,Princess of Wales during the final two years of her life. There has been speculation that the plot will explore Dianas relationships in the period leading up to her death. One of those was believed to have been with Hasnat Khan,a British-Pakistani surgeon who is being played by British actor Naveen Andrews. Directing the movie will be German Oliver Hirschbiegel,best known for the Oscar-nominated Hitler drama Downfall .
