M&M April sales jump 23% to 32,090 units

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said it has recorded a 23 per cent jump in its April sales to 32,090 units as against 26,043 units in the year ago-period.

The company’s domestic sales increased 21 per cent to 30,349 units in April,as against 25,037 units in the same month last year.

The domestic auto major’s passenger vehicles segment,including UVs and Verito,registered a 20 per cent jump in April to 15,459 units as against 12,923 units in the same month last year,a press release issued here stated.

The company’s three-wheeler sales has jumped 45 per cent in April to 4,411 as against 3,048 units in the year ago-period.

Its four-wheel pick-up and commercial passenger segment has grown by 16 per cent to 9,538 units in April in as against 8,206 units in the same month last year.

The company exported 1,741 vehicles in April as against 856 units in the same month last year,the company said in a statement,adding exports of the recently-launched Verito amounted to 150 units.

“We are happy with the 23 per cent growth that we have clocked in April. All our brands have been doing well and with recent launches such as Verito,Maxximo Mini Van and Gio compact cab,we hope to further consolidate our position in these segments,” M&M’s Chief Executive (Automotive Division),Rajesh Jejurikar,said.
