Maoists ‘abduct’ SAP Inspector,teacher

Maoists suspected to have abducted an Inspector of 13th battalion of the State Armed Police (SAP) and a school teacher.

In a re-run of the abduction of Atindranath Dutta — officer-in-charge of Sankrail police station,in West Midnapore district — in October last year,the Maoists were suspected to have abducted an Inspector of 13th battalion of the State Armed Police (SAP) and a school teacher on Saturday.

Sources said Partho Biswas,an Inspector of the 13 battalion of SAP,and Soumajeet Basu,member of an NGO and a school teacher,had gone to Tilagara village located at the foothills of Ayodhaya hill in Purulia.

Till late evening there was no ransom demand or communication from the Maoists,except a couple of anonymous calls to the wives of the police inspector and the teacher.
