Nepal President Ram Baran Yadav on Saturday hoped friendly ties with India and China would help the country overcome its problems,as he met an ex-Union minister and a former Uttarakhand minister here on Saturday.
Former Union Minister Satya Prakash Malaviya and senior Congress leader Dhirendra Pratap met Yadav at his residence and discussed with him issues of bilateral importance.
Pratap said the Nepalese President thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi for “taking keen interest” in the development of Nepal.
Yadav also expressed hope that Nepalese leaders would be able to solve the country’s problems with friends like India and China,and herald in a new era of peace and friendship on the Asia map,Pratap,a former Uttarakhand minister,said.
He also expressed “happiness” over the people-to-people initiative taken by the Congress-led government.
