Pakistani agent of Indian prostitute jailed in Singapore

A Pakistani national was today sentenced to three months in prison by a Singapore court for living on the earnings of an Indian prostitute.

31-year old Rashid Kashif was the Singapore contact of model-turned-prostitute Jain Pooja Manakchand,who was arrested from a hotel in a police raid,the online Straits Times reported.

The model was paid SGD 7,200 for sex by six men between February 8 and 12 at Singapore hotels. Kashif received 30 per cent of the earnings.

Kashif told the court that he made contact with the model through an online advertisement,which had sought a modelling coordinator,in September last year.

Kashif said he called the contact number and talked to a man,Ahmad,who identified himself as a modelling agent based in India.

He was told that Manakchad was to visit Singapore for a photo-shoot and for prostitution.

Kasif met her at the Singapore airport on February 8 and took her to a hotel where she provided services to customers.

The next day she was moved to another hotel where she was arrested in a police raid following a tip-off.

Manakchand provided details of Kashif to police. Kashif was arrested on February 12 night while he was trying to leave Singapore.
