Australia captain Ricky Ponting says he’ll be fit for the World Cup,while Mike Hussey and spin bowler Nathan Hauritz are still in doubt just two weeks ahead of the tournament.
Ponting, who missed the final Ashes test and the seven-match limited-overs series against England due to a broken finger, said Monday the injury was improving quickly and he could play immediately if needed.
Hussey, who has a torn hamstring, and Hauritz, who dislocated his shoulder 10 days ago in a match against England, are both still doubtful.
Australia will leave for India on Wednesday and will have its first practice match against India on Feb. 13.
