SL want WCup tribute to Muralitharan

SL batsman Chamara Kapugedera says that his team wants to win the World Cup as a tribute to ace spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan.

Sri Lanka batsman Chamara Kapugedera says that his team wants to win the World Cup as a tribute to ace spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan who will retire from international cricket after the competition.

Kapugedera said Thursday that Sri Lanka feels confident after crushing Canada in its first match and is well prepared to face Pakistan in its next Group A match on Saturday,the first major hurdle for the co-hosts.

He says everyone in the team is “doing their best” to take the World Cup home and make Muralitharan and the country proud.

Muralitharan holds the record for the most number of test and one-day international wickets.
