Cricketer Suresh Raina and 58 contractors of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) have been issued notices for alleged non-deposition of service tax to the tune of about Rs 170 crore.
The notices were issued by Commissioner of national products, service tax and custom duty,Mahender Singh.
Raina, who played matches in IPL,allegedly did not deposit the service tax to the tune of Rs 39 lakh.
Singh said in a briefing that over one thousand crore were spent on development by the GDA in past few years but no service tax was paid.
