Professional golfers of the country will be seen in action to vie for top honour during five-day 9th Tata Open Golf beginning at Beldih and Golmuri golf course from November 17.
Noted golfers including defending champion Gurki Shergill,Ashok Kumar,Shamim Khan,who was the runners-up of Tata Open and PGTI tour championship in the last edition,Vijay Kumar will take part,among others,in the Rs 50 lakh prize money championship,said H M Nerurkar,Managing Director of Tata Steel.
Addressing a press conference here,Nerurkar said Tata Steel has reconsidered the prize money and decided to enhance it to Rs 50 lakhs from Rs 20 lakhs this year.
The increased money will help attract good professional golfer to compete in the championship,he said.
The championship will be preceded by Pro-am on 17 November,he said.
