Two killed in Pak attack

Two security personnel were killed and four others injured when a suicide bomber struck a security check post in Pakistan's Khyber tribal region.

Two security personnel were killed and four others injured when a suicide bomber struck a security check post in Pakistan’s Khyber tribal region on Saturday.

Witnesses said the bomber,aged about 17 years,approached the check post and blew himself up at the time of ‘iftar’,the meal to break the fast during the holy month of Ramzan.

Two security personnel were killed while two civilians and as many security personnel were injured in the attack,TV news channels reported.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Earlier reports had said four persons were killed in the attack. The incident occurred a day after 40 people were killed in another suicide attack at Kohat in the North West Frontier Province.

Pakistani troops are currently conducting operations against the banned Lashkar-e-Islam group in the Khyber Agency.

Over 100 members of the organisation have been killed since the campaign was launched over two weeks ago.
