US to go to UN if NKorea launches missile: Clinton

US has warned North Korea that it would go before the UN if Pyongyang launches a missile and there would be consequences.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned North Korea that the United States would go before the United Nations if Pyongyang launches a missile, saying there would be consequences.

“We have been absolutely clear that the intention stated by the North Koreans to launch a missile for any purpose is a provocative act which we believe violates Security Council Resolution 1718,” Clinton told a press conference.

“We intend to raise this violation of the UN Security Council resolution,if it goes forward,in the UN,” Clinton said during a visit to Mexico City when asked to comment on reports that North Korea had put a missile on a launchpad.

“This provocative action in violation of the United Nations mandate will not go unnoticed and there will be consequences,” Clinton said.
