In her first foray to campaign for party candidates outside the family pocket boroughs of Amethi and Rae Bareli, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra lashed out at Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee’s duplicity in wooing the minorities. In an informal interaction with the media during her roadshow in Sultanpur, Priyanka asked that while Vajpayee’s wooing the minorities on Friday, ‘‘where was he when Gujarat was burning?’’ She urged the voters to use their franchise judiciously to defeat the divisive forces in their own interest and that of the country.
