The Congress on Wednesday said there was no relation between Priyanka Gandhi’s meeting with Nalini Murugan, life convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, and the latter seeking an early release.
“I don’t think there could be any relation between the two. I don’t think the meeting affects anything legally,” AICC spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told reporters in New Delhi.
He was responding to a question on Nalini, on Wednesday, moving the Madras High Court for early release, six weeks after her meeting with Gandhi.
