Prohibited items seized from Sabarmati jail

In yet another incident of security breech at the Sabarmati Central Jail, authorities have recovered three mobile phone sim cards, one DVD player and 22 audio and video CDs from the barrack of an under trial accused under POTA. Suresh Dhonsa, one of the jailers, seized the prohibited items from Javed Samid Siddiqui’s barrack in the dus kholi area inside the high security jail. During a routine check late on Saturday, Dhonsa noticed Siddiqui trying to hide some DVDs. Police said before Siddiqui could succeed in hiding his stuff, Dhonsa caught him and also recovered other prohibited items from his barrack.”
