Railings will stay: PCB
President of the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) Brig Madan Gopal made it clear that the railings erected on the pavements of M G Road as part of the beautification plan would not be removed.

He was reacting to the protests lodged by the Pune Camp Merchants’ Association (PCMA) with the board that the railings were unnecessarily blocking the road.

The chairman of the association and the members of the association who run their shops on M G Road had submitted a memorandum to the vice-president and the elected members demanding the removal of these railings on the grounds that the narrow pavements made it imperative for people to walk along the roads adding thus adding to the congestion.
