Water closure on Friday
Water supply to Karvenagar, Sahakarnagar, Model colony, Aundh and all other areas dependent on the SNDT and Padmavati pumping stations, will remain closed on Friday (June 12).

Other areas to be affected include; Bibvewadi, Gultekdi, Market yard, Katraj, Dhankawadi, Indiranagar, Hingne, Erandawane, Paud Road, Hingne Home Colony, Shikshaknagar, Gandhi Bhavan, Fergusson College Road, Hanumannagar, Gokhalenagar, Dapodi, Bopodi, Pashan and Khadki. Supply to these areas is likely to be inadequate on Saturday morning, according to an official communique issued by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday. The closure will be effected to carry out repairs and maintenance work at the two pumping stations.

It may be noted here that water supply to Hadapsar, Koregaon Park, Maharashtra Housing Board, Yerawada and other areas dependent on Pune Cantonment water works, will remain closed on Thursday, 11 am onwards. Other affected areas include Pune station area, Sassoon Hospital, Pune-Solapur Road, Jail Road, Nagar Road, Alandi Road, Mundhawa, Satavwadi, Mahadevnagar, Keshavnagar, Kondhwa Khurd, Kondhwa Budruk, Wanowrie, Fatimanagar, Kalas, Dhanori, Vidyanagar, Ektanagar, Tingrenagar, Navi Khadki, Wadgaonsheri, Chandannagar and Kharadi

.Taps run dry in PCMC areas
Nearly all the major localities in Pimpri-Chinchwad went without water on Wednesday morning as the main pipeline supplying water to the suburb burst near the MIDC water works in Nigdi on Tuesday night.

All the localities, barring those who receive their daily supply of water from the MIDC water works, went dry till the water supply was restored at low pressure in the evening following urgent repair works which could be completed only by late morning.
