PUNE, May 26: University of Pune (UoP) officials and college principals are unsure about the procedure to be followed for admissions to the first year BA, BCom and BSc courses for the academic year 1997-98, thanks to the lack of directives from the state government regarding centralisation of admissions.
Pune university’s counterpart in Mumbai has decided to go ahead with centralisation. However, the matter is pending in the court, with students protesting against the centralisation scheme. The UoP, playing safe, has preferred to convene a meeting of college principals on May 30 to decide on the future course of action.
