CHANDIGARH, Nov 25: Puneet and Tenzin bagged two gold medals each in the boys section in the Mount Carmel School annual athletic meet held at Sector 46 Sports Complex here today.

Puneet got first positions in 200 and 400 metres events for Class IX and X section while Tenzin got gold medals in long jump and 200-metre events for Class VIII group.

In the girls section, Parul came first in the 100 metres race for Class VIII.

CBSE volleyball
Twenty teams are expected to take part in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) North-East Zonal volleyball championship which will commence here from tomorrow at SD Public School, Sector 32.

CBSE affiliated schools from Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh Bihar and Assam will vie for top honours in the three-day meet.

Sub-junior soccer
The Chandigarh sub-junior football league (under-16) would be held from December 1 at Sector 17 Football Stadium, under the aegis of Chandigarh Football Association (CFA).

Players born on or after January 1, 1983 are eligible to take part in the meet. Entries close on November 29, with Rakesh Bakshi, secretary, CFA, H.No 3039, Sector 21-D.
