Punjab staff demand filling up of vacant posts

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 22: Employees of the Punjab State General Categories Welfare Federation staged a protest demonstration outside the Punjab Civil Secretariat here today.

The employees were demanding the filling up of the posts lying vacant in the secretariat, at the earliest.

Addressing the rally, Federation president Sham Lal Sharma said the promotion department had issued notifications dated June 16, 1999, directing the department to fill the posts with immediate effect, but no steps had been taken in this direction so far.
