NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today asked Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, a key accused in the Bofors gun deal case, to appear before the trial court here on March 15 and stay in India for two weeks for his interrogation by CBI, which was directed not to arrest him.
TN petition admitted
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today admitted a petition of the Tamil Nadu government challenging the validity of the notification by the Centre transferring all corruption cases against AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha from special judges to sessions courts and fixed March eight for further hearing on it.
By-polls peaceful
NEW DELHI: An estimated 55 per cent voters cast ballots amid tight security in by-elections to 11 assembly seats in five states which passed off peacefully today. The highest turnout of 70 per cent was recorded for the lone Khawbung seat in Mizoram followed by 60 per cent in Gujarat while Delhi registered the lowest voting of 37 per cent, state electioncommissions said. Counting of ballots will be taken up on February 24.
