NEW DELHI: A massive 95 per cent turnout was recorded on Monday for the eleventh presidential election across the country with Vice-President K R Narayanan’s victory by a huge margin a foregone conclusion. Prime Minister I K Gujral, former Prime Ministers, P V Narasimha Rao, H D Deve Gowda, Atal Behari Vajpayee and Chandrashekhar and Congress president Sitaram Kesri and Union Ministers cast their ballots at Parliament House.
CRB case probe
MUMBAI: Investors’ Grievances Forum now can make the official liquidator in the CRB case as a party respondent to their petition which seeks a deeper investigation into the misdeeds of the CRB group. Forum counsel Janak Dwarkadas and Chandu Mehta urged appointment of a high-power committee headed by governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to go into the misdeeds of the CRB group and submit periodic reports to the Mumbai High Court.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday decided not to go into the reasons for the sudden transfer of former CBI chief Joginder Singh as he was not directly connected with the investigations into sensitive cases being monitored by the courts.
