HC reserves order on paper duty

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court today reserved its order for tomorrow on the stay sought by four prominent national newspapers on Union Government’s decision to impose anti-dumping duty on newsprint. The contention of the newspaper owners was that the government should not rely on the preliminary report of the designated authority as the parties likely to aggrieved were not heard in the case.

NEW DELHI: Thousands of women from across the country today sent postcards to Prime Minister I K Gujral demanding immediate passage of a Constitutional amendment bill to provide 33 per cent reservation for them in Parliament and Assemblies. The country-wide postcard campaign was launched by the National Alliance of Women .
