CHANDIGARH: THE Punjab police today claimed to have exposed a plot by Pakistan intelligence agency ISI to liquidate Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and other top BJP and Akali Dal leaders, following the arrest of a gang of Pak-trained Punjab terrorists and their agents in Tarn Taran area of Amritsar.Among those arrested in a joint operation by Punjab police and the Border Security Force were a possible human bomb, an ISI agent Abi Saloom alias sashi of Lahore and a 66-year-old cook of the Golden Temple.Jerusalem blastsJERUSALEM: AT least 18 people were killed in twin bomb blasts which ripped through a historic Jewish market in west Jerusalem on Wednesday, Israeli police said. Israel's Red Star of David emergency service said the two bombs, which went off a few minutes apart in the crowded outdoor market, left at least 100 people injured. Two bombs placed in sacks caused the blasts.Quake rocks HPSHIMLA: AN earthquake measuring 5.2 on Richter scale rumbled through Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday night damaging several buildings. There were no casualties but two persons were injured in Sundernagar in Mandi district, officials said. A number of buildings were damaged in Sundernagar which was hardest-hit, they said.
