PESHAWAR, February 23: Poor weather continued to dog India `A’ cricket team’s tour of Pakistan as steady drizzle since this morning has cast doubts over any prompt start of the second Test scheduled here from tomorrow.
The Indian team had to come away without nets this morning owing to the rain with only fielding practice possible at the wet ground.
“I am very disappointed. The weather was clear till yesterday and the boys were looking forward to a good contest. We are very disappointed,” coach K Srikkanth said.
With chances of any play tomorrow doubtful, the Indians who are yet to get a full match since arriving in Pakistan on February 1, will again have to idle their time.Indian team management plans to bring in left-hander Rohan Gavaskar, who did well in the side fixture against Rawalpindi Division Association side, into the final twelve.
“But we will name the eleven only before the start,” Srikkanth said, adding that the wicket looked nice and hard though there was hardly any grass. “I mightturn later and we expected a good contest,” he added.
