ST. JOHN’S (ANTIGUA), March 24: Heavy showers prevented any play before lunch on the final day of the sixth Test between West Indies and England today, enhancing the touring team’s chances of avoiding defeat.

During the interval 20 groundsmen and prisoners from the jail next to the Antigua Recreation Ground were mopping up with a view to a start after an early lunch.

England, fighting to avoid an innings defeat and a 3-1 drubbing in the series, are 200 runs behind with seven wickets in hand.
