MUMBAI, December 16: The Mahamumbai Shikshan Sanstha Sanghatana, an organisation of educational institutions, has appealed to the state government to raise a Developmental Fund for educational institutions in the event of the government banning financial assistance or donations from students’ parents. Said sanghatana secretary Avinash R Tambe, “The non-salary grant has been reduced from 12 to 6 per cent. There has also been a 300-fold increase in teachers’ salaries. But school fees remain static.

How can managements run schools?” The Sanghatana demanded that the non-salary grant be upgraded to its aid of earlier 12 per cent, and that a separate annual

grant be made on sports.
