Still unhappy over the BSP-BJP alliance in Uttar Pradesh, former chief minister Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday the issue of largescale transfers of officers by Chief Minister Mayawati would be taken up in the coordination committee of both the parties.
Rajnath, party incharge for Uttaranchal besides Uttar Pradesh, is on a two-day tour of the hill state. Asked about his omission from the coordination committee of the two parties, Rajnath said he has been entrusted with party responsibilities.
On his reported opposition to BJP-BSP alliance, Rajnath sought to clarify earlier, as per decision of the party parliamentary board, he was in favour of playing the role of Opposition but later when the board did a turnabout, he had to abide by its decision. On BJP’s decline, he said coalition politics hurt the party to a great extent. But was he happy with the coalition government? To this, Rajnath said: ‘‘Do I look unhappy.’’
