Raman Roy — former chairman of Wipro Spectramind — is all set to pick up 40 per cent stake in market research firm Annik Tecnology Services.

The investment signals a strategic intent to support high-end knowledge related services, Annik said. The firm specialises in market research and data analytics domain and was founded by Rahul Sahgal.

Explaining the deal, Roy said, ‘‘We see a huge potential in the market research industry. The value chain in outsourcing is on the rise in India, an in Annik we have found the right potential. The domain learning offered by the firm is at par with global firms.’’

Roy also added that this was the first line of investments that he and his team had planned. ‘‘We have far bigger plans in the near future, which we will announce in the next six to eight weeks.’’
