After Uttar Pradesh, the face-off between the Andhra Pradesh government and the Eenadu group has provided the Telegu Desam Party (TDP) with another issue on which it can get its erstwhile partners to rally around.

The TDP sought the help of the CPI (M), CPI, and the Samajwadi party (SP) in raising the issue in parliament.

TDP Rajya Sabha MP Rama Mohana Rao today met CPI(M) politburo member Brinda Karat and CPI leader D Raja, seeking their support over the issue.

Later, Rao also met SP leader Amar Singh. He hinted that the possibility of a “new political alignment” is not far, as his party has “common ground” with the Left on a host of issues.
